If the Construction Industry digitalizes to deliver projects more efficiently, could robots address any post-Brexit skills and labour shortages, as well as facilitate social distancing rules on site? What are the future jobs in construction? Finally, what are we going to build and how? Our industry experts will discuss these questions at the morning Discussion Panel.

London will be London post COVID19 LockDown but change will be even more rapid so what does that mean in the built environment? This workshop will explore:
- Public Transport in London 2021 and beyond: what do we need? How can rush hour have its ‘curve flattened’? Where will people want to get to and from (and when)?
- Demand for dwellings: central or doughnut; larger or smaller; cheap or reassuringly expensive; owner occupied or rented (or some of each); long term, short term, aparthotel to supplement country mansion?
- Commercial office space – matching supply to requirement: Hot desking; Greater periods of occupation due to flexible working; Communications links to those working remotely; Will we ‘change’ or revert to ‘normal’?
- Retail practice and delivery – is it time for a radical rethink: Do you want to ‘go to the shops’ Is self select supermarket trolley filling still sensible; If the window is the most important thing for fashion, why have deep space full of racks of different sizes further back?
- Leisure Occupiers: When will sport be allowed again and will it be viable ‘as was’ or what must change – if change then HOW; When can we ‘eat out’ as we used to and will we want to; if not how do the new eateries need to look and feel; Clubs bars and pubs are expected to be last out of lockdown – will any of them be left and might some emerge earlier if they can ‘adapt’?
